The two-day international event on franchise, retail and licensing industry, Franchise India-2008 which started at Delhi concluded on Sunday (November 30). The mega event which was inaugurated by Vice-Chief of Army Staff M.L. Naidu saw the participation of over 350 domestic and global brands. Franchise India-2008 was organized to provide comprehensive business-to-business platform for the franchise, retail and licensing industry to facilitate meetings, interactions and business deliberations.
The grand event was organised by Franchise India Holdings (FIH), a franchising consulting service provider. The event discussed a slew of issues including the potential of the franchisee business in India and abroad. The retail experts and industry leaders had delivered speeches on the changing dynamics of the retail industry. Premium brands like Nirulas, Levi's, Adidas, Famous Famiglia (US), Southern Fried Chicken (US), Dulce Cafe and High and Mighty had made their appearances in the two-day international event.
Talking to media, FIH president Gaurav Marya informed that global franchise business is expanding at brisk pace of about 15 percent every year. According to him, country like India has also adopted the business quite well and it is maintaining head-to-head growth with international markets. He stated that franchising will prove to be an enormous business opportunity in this period of global economic slow down.
