Four players of Indian origin have been inducted into the Canadian hockey team, which has qualified for the impending Beijing Olympics.

Even though the Indian hockey team did not qualify for the impending Beijing Olympics, four players of Indian origin have been inducted into the Canadian hockey team. It is on August 8 this year that the Beijing Olympics will kick start. The four Indians who have been selected to be a part of the 18-member hockey team of Canada, which has qualified for the mega event, includes Ranjeev Singh Deol, Ravi Singh Kahlon, Bindi Singh Kullar and Sukhwinder Singh. 

The announcement regarding this was made on Monday, June 30. Canada has performed its best in Olympics thrice in 1976, 1984 and 2000. In the 2004 Athens Olympics, they even failed to qualify. But this time around they seem fully prepared to showcase their best performance ever. The Canadian hockey team is in Pool B and is pitted against Australia, Netherlands, Pakistan and Great Britain.
