With experts seeing major growth for the computer animation and gaming industry in India in the coming years, the state government is already into action for setting up necessary infrastructure in order to turn this assumption into reality.

It was recently announced by minister of state for education Vasu Deo Devnani that four animation institutes are going to be opened at Jodhpur, Ajmer, Kota and Udaipur in Rajasthan. Vasu Deo Devnani added that all preparations have been done towards this end.

He informed that three more educational institutes to provide professional training will be set up at Bikaner, Bharatpur and Alwar in the fields like graphics, painting, draughtsman and automobile. The state government will manage the administration of these institutes, each of which will see an investment of Rs 2.5 Crore approximately.

Presently only one such institute exists in Jaipur which was set up last year in private partnership. As per experts, the size of the Indian animation market in 2005 was approximately USD 285 million and this figure is expected to rise to USD 950 million by just 2009.
