The teams and manufacturers of Formula 1 seek to shun International Automobile Federation (FIA) President Max Mosley and called for an overhaul of the F1 body in a crisis over next year’s rules. The team association FOTA, produced a draft to the FIA’s senate seeking assistance in finding an answer.

Mosley had been repeatedly asked to resign last year. He sits on a 26-member motor sport council with Bernie Eccelstone, F1 supremo. Mosley has to decide whether he wants to go for one more term after it expires in October.

Teams Ferrari and Red Bull had initially declined to participate in the 2010 season unless the rules were changed. Toyota said that FIA needs to adopt transparent and modern governance system. Ferrari, BMW, Renault, Toyota and other teams are determined to find another way to practice F1, which ensures clarity, systematic rules, and an allocation of revenues for each team.

FOTA has said in a statement that the proposals from the FIA were not good for the sport’s future , the jobs of the people employed in the motor-racing industry, and for the millions of fans, who are saddened by the current state of affairs in F1. F1 has millions of fans across the globe and they throng the stands in thousands, whenever an F1 race is held in their cities.
