The vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kalyan Singh gave his resignation from party membership complaining negligence. The former Uttar Pradesh CM, Kalyan Singh offered his resignation letter to BJP president Rajnath Singh in which he said that he has been feeling unhappy but can not continue to be a member of the party anymore. The 76-year-old leader also said that he is giving back Etah Parliamentary seat ticket which was provided to him by BJP.
The veteran leader blamed the party for ignoring senior leaders. He gave the examples of experienced leaders like Uma Bharti, Babu Lal Marandi and Madan Lal Khurana who were all ousted by the party. Kalyan Singh slammed the top leaders of BJP and said that they do not have any public appeal.
Kalyan Singh met Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday (January 18) and the next day his son Rajveer Singh has been offered a Lok Sabha seat on SP ticket. The veteran leader was angry with BJP because the party nominated Ashok Pradhan, sitting MP from Bulandshahr seat. Kalyan Singh has put an alleging finger on Pradhan for sabotaging his son Rajveer Singh's chances in the assembly elections two years ago from Diboi seat in Aligarh district. It is worth mentioning that Kalyan Singh had earlier quit BJP in 1999.
