Former South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun has reportedly committed suicide on Saturday (May 23).   According to a top aide to former president, the 63-year-old Roh Moo-Hyun left a suicide note before plunging to death from a mountain near his home. As per polices sources, Roh suffered severe head injuries and died in Busan National University Hospital in the southern part of the country.

According to doctors, the head injuries were very severe which caused his death. Roh Moo-Hyun was earlier taken to a nearby hospital in very serious condition and then moved to Busan National University Hospital where he breathed his last. Apart from head injuries, many bones were broken, including ribs and pelvis. Authorities have started to investigate the cause behind his death.

Roh Moo-Hyun had served as the president of South Korea from 2003 to 2008. During his tenure as a president, Moo-Hyun has allegedly taken more than $6 million in bribes from a businessman. Earlier this month, the former South Korean president admitted that his wife took an unspecified amount of money as a loan but said that initially he was unaware of it.

Although investigation is on to find out the cause of his death, it is expected that multi-million dollar scam has forced him to commit suicide. In his suicide note, Roh Moo-Hyun wrote that after cremating his body erect a small tombstone at his native village. Prime Minister Han Seung-Soo condoled at Moo-Hyun's death and immediately called an emergency cabinet meeting.
