The health condition of former president of India, R Venkataraman is in critical state, informed a spokesperson of Army's Research and Referral Hospital. Venkataraman was hospitalised on January 12 after suffering from delirium and dehydration. As per the spokesperson, after the initial medical tests it is found the former president is suffering from e-coli urinary tract infection and sepsis.
The spokesperson further informed that the 98-year-old ex-president also has evidences of pneumonia and respiratory failure. He is currently on respiratory support system. Venkataraman is being constantly monitored by a team of doctors at Army's Research and Referral Hospital.
Born in Dec 4, 1910, R Venkataraman became the eight president of India on 1987. He served the nation as a president from 1987 to 1992. Prior to his election as the president, Venkataraman offered his service to the country as the vice-president for nearly four years.
