Former Miss Meerut, Priyanka Singh, has denied her earlier statement saying, she has not killed her parents.  However, the theory put forward by the Uttar Pradesh Police tells that Priyanka and her friend Anju had visited the former’s parents' home at Prayag Colony in Meerut on November 10 on the pretext of getting her mark sheet. Following an altercation with her parents Priyanka killed both of them by using a kitchen knife, which the police claim was later dumped in the roadside drain.

After the arrest of Priyanka and Anju, it was discovered that both of them belong to broken families and have been victims of family abuse. Priyanka reportedly nurtured a deep grudge against her father, Premveer Singh who teased her for being an illegitimate child.
 
With her denial from the charge, Priyanka Singh’s relatives are now asking for a CBI inquiry into the case. Priyanka’s family members are suspicious about her inseparable friendship with Anju and a lesbian angle is also being viewed upon.
