After the ground-breaking launch of Google's Chrome browser last week, Firefox is now out of its siesta and is geared up to launch Firefox 3.1 browser. This innovative browser will include private browsing feature which prevents recording of web site visits by the browser. This feature — casually called "porn mode" by many Internet users — has been on the Firefox development road chart for over four years, ever since Apple planned to embrace private browsing in its next release of the Safari Web browser in 2004.
Similar to Safari and Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 comprises a private browsing mode. Private browsing actually involves discarding or blocking browser cookies, Web history data, Web searches and any other stored form data. It's a way to screen one's Web activities from others on the same computer; however, it doesn't prevent records of the user's visit from being recorded remotely. Firefox 3.1 is expected to appear in beta at the end of September 2008.
