A fire that spread out rapidly through a massive apartment complex situated in southeastern Connecticut on Saturday 26 April reduced a significant portion of the building to ashes and in the process, rendered over a 100 people homeless. Though the fire was swift and strong, there were no fatalities or any acute injuries reported. A source informed that the authorities had account of all residents living in that particular apartment complex by Saturday night, except one.
The police told a television channel that officials believe that the residents may have moved out. Firefighters, who reached the complex at around 1.25 am, found that the raging fire had crumpled a crucial portion of the roof of this 120-apartment complex. Those living in the unaffected sections of the building were quickly moved out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the authorities said.
