FIA, the governing body of motorsports have waved the green flag for Ferrari's Felipe Massa to test drive.
Ferrari had made talks FIA earlier regarding the granting of permission for Massa to test drive so that The Brazilian does not hamper any rules once he is back.
Stefano Domenicali, the Ferrari chief, mentioned that the return of Massa to racing was unsure. He mentioned that Massa, who will be test driving a two year old Ferrari, may not be returning for the Brazilian Grand Prix which is slated to take place on Oct 18.
Massa had suffered a critical crash while participating at the qualifying round of the Hungarian Grand Prix in July and had remained dormant.
The 28-year-old has started preparing for his comeback and has already completed a few laps in a cart and will progress to the 2007 Ferrari soon.
Michael Schumacher, who had undergone tests for replacing Massa, could not come back due to his neck injury he had been suffering.
