In a cut edge research, Professor Denis Par, at New Jersey Center for Molecular and Behaviour Neuroscience USA, has discovered fear cells in brain. Professor Par identified that a critical component of the amygdales neural network normally involved in the extinction, or elimination, of fear memories.

Earlier research had showed that amygdale is involved in the expression of innate fear responses in humans. Including humans the same applied to animals too. According to Science magazine ‘Science Daily,’ research has shown that in any given year about 40 million adults pass through anxiety disorder.

These anxiety disorders in the form of phobia, panic disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have been identified in this research. Also, it has observed that people with anxiety disorders show an ‘extinction deficit,’ or a failure to ‘forget’. The new research could be helpful in treating post-traumatic stress, tells Science Daily.
