The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has provided Mumbai police with the evidence that indicates Pakistan's linkage to 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The FBI handed over the crucial evidence to a three-member team of Mumbai police who came to Washington last week. The Mumbai police headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Deven Bharti submitted the Letters of Request issued by a Mumbai court to the US Department of Justice.

The team left for Mumbai on Wednesday (February 18) with the details of evidence which will show how Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operated the attackers during the Mumbai incidents. The FBI evidence claimed that the whole plan of the brutal attack was masterminded in Pakistan. The nodal investigating agency of US provided Mumbai police with the details of the calls made by the gunmen during the attacks.

The FBI gave the details of the calls made by the satellite phone through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and other materials relating to Global Positioning System used by the terrorists while sailing from Karachi. The evidence also contains the forensic examination of the bullets used by the terrorists in Mumbai. With the help of evidence from FBI, India will be able to consolidate the charges on Pakistan and dismiss Islamabad's claim that the conspiracy behind the November 26 attacks was not masterminded in Pakistan alone.
