Popular social networking site, Facebook has restructured its news feeds with the design featuring a toggle view between a main view and a live feed. The main view featured the top stories from the friends based on their habits whereas the ‘live feed’ gave real-time updates from the user’s whole network.
Product manager Peter Deng said, "When the user wakes up in the morning, you go to Facebook and you see (the) news feed."
He also added, "You see the stuff that you missed, the best of the previous day, to basically catch you up on what your friends have been up to."
Though the new restructuring exercise is not well received at all quarters, still it will take time to be accepted by all.
About the other additions, the Facebook development team have added Birthday and event alerts. Apart from that, there were the news feeds containing stories. Brands' fan pages will also be there but it depends on the user’s choice. So a user can put less updates from a given person or fan page.
