Facebook for iPhone 3.0 is actually an application which will provide the users with a better social networking. This version, which has been submitted to Apple, will very soon be available for the users.

Like its previous version, 2.5, this also come for free with additional features like access to your favourite pages or let you see friends' birthdays

Facebook for iPhone 3.0 comes with lots of new additions.

The home screen of the application is a 3-by-3 grid of squares that providing the user with access to his news feed, profile, list of friends, inbox, chat, requests, events, photos, and notes. A click on any them will provide the user with more options. For navigating back to the home page, the user needs to click the Facebook logo which will be visible on the centre of the screen.

Users have the provision for populating additional custom home screens using the favourite pages of the users.

This app provides the users with option to view their events and RSVP, friends' birthdays, see pages, write notes, and upload videos straight from the phone.

There is a modified "Friends" list, which is now seen as a phone icon if they have listed their phone number. The user can call the required person by tapping this icon.

The news feed is slightly better than 2.5. it provides options for uploading video from your phone itself.

The photo functionality of the app enables the user to zoom in and 'like' other people's photos. There are provisions for creating new photo albums and for deleting any unwanted and previous photos. The app also enables to delete tags from your photo.

This app is not without drawbacks.

The major drawback comes from the inability to edit the custom home screen once it is set up. If any changes have to be made, then the app has to be reinstalled right from scratch and select all over.

Yet another drawback is that you cannot integrate the main address book and the Facebook contacts. Two different address books have to be used.

If the user wants to see any new comments or messages, then the user has to open the app or confirm that the notifications have been sent via emails.

The mobile Facebook app does not provide the users with the options for editing his or her personal profile information. Any typo made needs to be corrected using a PC.

Despite the lack of push notifications and address-book integration, this an easier, faster, and more complete Facebook client and a must-have app for every iPhone user with a FB account.
