A huge explosion in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, outside the Danish embassy has killed many and left several injured.

A bomb went off in the Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, outside the Danish embassy on Monday, June 02, 2008. A security source at the scene revealed that perhaps it is a bomb attack and the bomb has created deep craters. Official sources have, however, not as yet been able to give any figures for casualties. None the less according to some media sources, eight people are so far feared dead in the bomb blast.
 
It is being speculated that it is a car bomb, which blew outside the embassy. The blast destroyed the embassy gate and damaged the building and vehicles in the compound in the up market district of Islamabad. At the blast site other missions and houses of the diplomats are also located. 

The explosion is believed to have taken place around 1 pm, today afternoon. Interior Ministry secretary Kamal Shah has confirmed the news but has not divulged more information about the mishap. Television footages show that considerable damage has occurred to the mission and several vehicles have also been destroyed in the bombing.
