With the completion of the extradition pact with the US, the 27 justice ministers of European Union have mentioned that the pact will come into force from Feb 2010.
The ratification of the pact has been finalized along with the finalization of the mutual assistance deal during the talks which was held on Friday in Luxembourg. The pact comes in wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.
The deal will ensure that the US would not be sentencing any of the suspects extradited from the EU with death sentence.
This will be a supplement to the bilateral treaties which have already been signed by Washington and EU. Now extradition request can be handled in an easier and better way.
