Ageis, the BPO of India’s Essar Group, is all set to purchase the Los Angeles-based PeopleSupport Inc for around $250 million. It will be an all-cash deal that will help the Indian company profit from the new burgeoning outsourcing destinations.

The merger saw the yearly revenues of the Indian company up from about $320 million to $500 million in the first full fiscal year to March 2010. The PeopleSupport Inc. has got delivery units in Philippines as well as Costa Rica and its acquisition by Ageis will provide the latter entry into the southeast Asian market.  

Speaking on this issue, Aparup Sengupta, CEO of the Essar firm, Aegis BPO, said, ‘We didn't have a Philippines presence. It is very complimentary to what we do in terms of geographic presence.’ The Essar Group’s BPO firm has stated that it expects the deal to get finalized in the coming two to three months.
