Anil Agarwal, executive chairman of the Vedanta Resources was on Wednesday (November 26) named the Ernst and Young entrepreneur for the year 2008. The 10th edition of the Ernst and Young entrepreneur awards in India was decided by a six-member jury headed by KV Kamath, managing director and chief executive of ICICI Bank.
Eight other entrepreneurs who received awards at the function in Mumbai were Jaypee Group chairman Jaiprakash Gaur, in infrastructure and construction sector, Gautam Thapar, chairman and CEO, Avantha Group, in manufacturing, CEO and co-Founder of OnMobile Global, Arvind Rao, for start-ups, Rohinton 'Ronnie' Screwvala, CEO, UTV for services, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, CEO and managing director along with Hitesh Oberoi, director and amp; COO, Info Edge for business transformation, and AM Naik, chairman and managing director, L&T, for management.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the chairman and chief executive of the Oberoi group, PRS Oberoi.
