Highly popular Spanish singer, Enrique Iglesias through his song ‘Can You Hear Me’ is all set to become the official voice of the soon-to-be-held 2008 UEFA European Football Championship at Austria and Switzerland. The UEFA, from its Nyon headquarters on Tuesday 20 May, mentioned in a statement issued that the song may become the anthem of the entire football tournament. It also hailed Enrique Iglesias as the ideal person for this job.  

 

Enrique Iglesias, along with Steve Morales and Frankie Storm, have penned this song ‘Can You Hear Me’, which he will be singing during the closing game at Vienna on 29 June. Commercial director Philippe Margraff justified the UEFA decision to rope in the Spanish singer by stating that he is an international star who is passionate about football and also bears European roots. Enrique Iglesias has remarked that he is happy to be a part of this important event.
