England’s middle order batsman Kevin Pietersen is likely to retire from ODI cricket soon. Pietersen would like to concentrate more on Test and T20 matches henceforth.

Kevin is right now the most brilliant player in ODI as far as England is concerned. He wants to spend more time with his wife and son and thinks that present scheduling of cricket games makes it rather impossible to quickly shift from one format play to another very suddenly.

England recently lost by 6-1 in the ODI series to team Australia.

England is set to play World Cup warm-up games next week against Canada as well as Pakistan in Dhaka ahead of their first World Cup game against Holland in Nagpur 22nd February.

Pointing out that World Cup schedule is too long, KP said, “Our schedule has been ridiculous going into this World Cup and it is probably why England teams have not done well in past World Cups.”
