Emraan Hashmi's effigy and posters were burnt by some gym instructors who barged into the Smruti Cinema in Nagpur and protested against Madhur Bhandarkar’s Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.

The management of the theatre were surprised at the protests of the gym instructors who were upset because Emraan’s character was based on that of a gym instructor. Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji is a romantic comedy and it was recently released.

Akshaye Rathi, the theatre owner said, "The protesters claimed that Emraan was shown in bad light and that his portions should be deleted."

The gym instructor’s group became violent as they pulled down Emraan’s posters and burnt them. Emraan is quite popular there and he has a lot of fans in central India territories but, the protests came as a surprise to the theatre management.
