You will now be able to register online with any employment exchange from anywhere and at any point of time. The government has plans for modernising the employment exchanges so that job seeking becomes easier.
“Under the project, a national web portal with common software will be developed. This will contain all the data regarding availability of skilled persons on the one hand and requirements of skilled persons by the industry on the other," said Mukherjee while presenting the union budget for 2009-10 in Lok Sabha on Monday.
The modernisation programme will be launched as a public-private partnership.
"It will help the youth get placed and enable industry to procure required skills on real time basis," the finance minister added.
