British singer Elton John concert in Egypt has been banned by the Egypt's musician's union on Sunday. The concert was scheduled to take place on May 18 in Egypt.
 
The ban came after the singer’s controversial remarks on religions. Elton John, 63 recently said that all the religions of the world should be banned.
 
Mounir al-Wasimi, the Head of the Egyptian Musician Union quoted, “How do we allow a gay, who wants to ban religions, claimed that the prophet Eissa (Jesus) was gay and calls for Middle Eastern countries to allow gays to have sexual freedom."
 
The pop superstar had said, “Try being a gay woman in the Middle East - you're as good as dead", after that he added he believes ‘Jesus was gay.’
 
According, to human rights activists it was claimed that homosexuality is spreading fast in Egypt. The topic is prohibited in the country.
