Taiwanese computer behemoth ASUS will shortly launch a new innovation that had made its debut in the latest edition of CES (Consumer Electronics Show). The Eee keyboard is indeed an oddity as it is a computer built into a keyboard.

The company has taken a fair amount of time in developing this keyboard because it has had problems figuring out where this product stands in the market. Bolstered by the success of the Eee PC and the fact that no other company is working on this concept, they believe they are once again set to revolutionize the computer market.

The Eee keyboard is designed primarily for home use and features a CPU and touch screen built into the keyboard. The keyboard can stream high definition video files and store the same onto a 32GB SSD. A wide-band HDMI standard allows users to view the videos on a LCD TV or external monitor.

The 5-inch touch screen lets you connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi connectivity. One can also send and receive e-mails, shop online and access applications and sites of their choice. It also features an Ethernet port, speakers and mic. The keyboard can run on both Windows XP and Moblin Operating System (OS) but the company is as yet to decide which of the two it will incorporate.

The Eee keyboard will most likely be launched this August. The company however chooses to remain tight-lipped on the price
