Massachusetts Senator Edward M. Kennedy on Tuesday 20 May was detected to be having a lethal brain tumor. This revelation could mark a final chapter in the life of the prominent senator, who has witnessed steep highs as well as lows. As per few health experts, Senator Edward M. Kennedy has even less than a year to live. The brain tumor was detected by the doctors after Senator Kennedy underwent a seizure recently. Apart from his family, the news of the Kennedy’s brain tumor has come as a shock to the Capitol Hill too where this 76 year old Massachusetts Democrat has served since 1962.
The doctors overlooking Senator’s case at the Massachusetts General Hospital have remarked that he carries a lethal glioma in the left parietal lobe, which is that portion of the human brain that controls sensation, movement and language. His doctors further informed that Senator Kennedy will have to stay in the hospital for few days because they are considering giving him chemotherapy and radiation. Since the tumor cannot be operated, the doctors did not mention surgery.
