Dolly hurricane so far has taken one life and badly affected Mexico. Dolly shattered windows, ripped off rooftops, toppled trees and power lines which according to some estimates amount to loss of hundreds of millions of dollars. Dolly is first hurricane of the season in the Gulf of Mexico.
Mexico's northeastern border city of Matamoros has been badly affected with the storm and thousands of people have been left powerless and without potable water. An official source informed that one person died because of electrocution and it will take time for life to come into order.
Reports say that because of storm city's main water treatment plant has been damaged and some 500,000 inhabitants of the place are left without potable water. The storm deflated at 56 kilometers per hour and is expected to touch Nuevo Laredo. Remarkably Nuevo Laredo is near the US border and may face flooding from Dolly's heavy rain.
AIR Worldwide Corporation has estimated that because of dolly damage in the tune of 300 million to 1.2 billion dollars in the United States, and less than a quarter of the same in Mexico have taken place. There could be more than nine hurricanes in this season as the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through the end of November.
