After Saina, Sunitha, Anjali and Avneet, Divya too, made an exit from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. With this, Indian judokas’ challenge came to a gloomy end. Divya Tewar, the young champion, is knocked out the game when she bent down her knees before Yalennis Castillo of Cuba in the 78kg Category. Her fight was ended in just 13 seconds as she concluded on the wrong side of a 1000-0 scoreline.

Divya, whose selection to the Olympics ignited strong objections, got a quota place for the Beijing Olympics by scoring points at the Asian Championships in 2007. Tombi Khumujam Devi, the other Indian judoka, was knocked out in the prelims of the women’s 48kg event last week.
