Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has retained his top position toppling SA captain Graeme Smith in the latest ICC player rankings. His good batting in Sri Lanka where he scored 193 runs, and won Man of the Series helped him to reach on the top of the list of batsmen. Another Indian batsman in the list of top 20 batsmen are Sachin Tendulkar (9th), Yuvraj Singh (18th).
In the bowler's list, pace bowler Zaheer Khan is the highest ranked Indian at 14th place. His good bowling performance in Sri Lanka ODI series where he took nine wickets helped him to make a place in top 20 bowlers. Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is ranked at 23rd. Bowlers list is topped by Australian pacer Nathan Bracken.
The list shows drop in the rankings of two Indian top class batsmen, Yuvraj Singh, and Virender Sehwag. While, Yuvraj Singh has been dropped three places after scoring just 72 runs in the series and is placed at 18th position, Virender Sehwag, who missed the ODI series due to an ankle injury, stays in 29th place. Youngster, Suresh Raina has improved his ranking with good batting in Sri Lanka ODI scoring 157 runs. He is ranked 35th in the list.
