Dev Benegal’s much hyped Hindi film, "Road Movie", which stars Abhay Deol and Tannishtha Chatterjee, will open at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which is scheduled to start on Sep 10.
This movie will be premiered at the Special Presentations section at Winter Garden on Sep 18.
This movie, which is presented by The Indian Film Company along with Studio 18, is a Benegal screenplay which had been screened at L'Atelier selection of the Cannes Film Festival in 2007.
"We couldn't be more delighted and honoured that TIFF has chosen to premiere 'Road Movie' as a special presentation. The invitation is an endorsement of our vision to selectively back high quality international cinema," said Sandeep Bhargava, CEO of the advisory to TIFC.
The movie is produced by Susan B. Landau and Ross Katz and revolves around Vishnu, a restive young man, who after rejecting his father’s oil business moves away with a travelling cinema. Colourful and full of unforgettable characters, the film celebrates India's open road and the pure love of movies.
