According to sources from Dell, the firm is likely to launch a mini laptop soon. The information has come in confirmation of the report published in a story in Wall Street Journal. The mini laptop expectedly would be a low priced computer. The firm intends to price it around $400.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that the mini laptop will have a screen size less than nine inches. Also, the notebook will run either Microsoft Windows or Linux operating system software. The firm intends to put it into competition with the Eee PC from Asustek Computer and other rivals in Taiwan and Japan.
The firm expects that the mini laptop will generate demand among people who want full-access to email, Web pages, and business documents while out side their offices. The new Dell model would be revealed on Thursday as part of an announcement with partner Box.net.
