Dell is going to launch two new Android OS based netbooks - Sparta and Athens in coming days. The netbooks are supposed to be announced alongside the new smartphones.

It was rumored a few days ago that the company might be preparing for the launch of new smartphones.

As per the reports, the new Android based netbooks may come with Moblin (Mobile Linux) OS on them.  Some of the new products like Looking Glass and Looking Glass Pro tablets may also come with Android OS with Bender. All these Android based devices are expected to hit the stores by the third quarter of 2011.

Both Sparta and Athens will sport 11-inch SVGA TFT displays each and will be powered by ARM based processors. The devices carry features such as 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The new tablets are expected to bear new user interface called Bender.

Looking Glass sports a 7-inch WVGA display whereas the higher version called Looking Glass Pro will come with HD display and optional TV tuner. Looking Glass Pro is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2012.

However, the company is still to confirm on the details yet.
