Dell unveiled its thin-looking Inspiron Mini 12 netbook in Indian market. The new Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is expected to give tough competition to MacBook Air and VooDoo Envy. Croma Electronic Megastore branches will market the Mini 12 in India. Although the company has not yet announced the price, it is supposed that the slim netbook will be available for Rs 31,000. Dell's product is just 0.2 inch thicker than MacBook Air and VooDoo Envy.
The new netbook from Dell is powered by 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 and is incorporated with a 533MHz FSB, a Intel US15W chipset, and a 1GB DDR2 533MHz and 80GB 4200RPM HDD. The Dell netbook also features a 1.3 megapixel webcam. Inspiron Mini 12 is also endowed with WiFi and Bluetooth facilities. With 12.1-inch screen, the netbook's glossy exterior makes Mini 12 more glittery and attractive.
Instead of Windows Vista, Inspiron Mini 12 runs on the Windows XP Home edition. The baterry performance of the Mini 12 is tremendous as its 3-cell battery offers 3 hours of back-up while the 6-cell option lasts for about 6.5 hours. The slim yet powerful netbook from Dell is expected to allure web-savvy students and business executives. Dell's product is expected to hit the Indian stores by the last part of January 2009.
