The maximum temperature recorded was 33.9°Celsius, a notch below the average, while the minimum temperature recorded was 29.1°Celsius, two degrees above the average. "Skies will remain partly cloudy. More rain and thundershowers can be expected in the next 24 hours," he added.

An official at the India Meteorological Department told IANS: "Current meteorological analysis indicates scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Delhi and other northern states of the country during next 48 hours." The humidity level recorded was 93%, 7%s above the humidity recorded on Tuesday.

"I was so desperately waiting for the rains. I have planned an outing with my friends to India Gate in this lovely weather," said Shalini Sethi, a college student.

Delhiites were seen enjoying the weather with many of them taking a walk in the rain-washed gardens of the city. Many people were also seen heading out for outings and shopping.
