The Delhi Daredevils clinched a much needed victory on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Feroz Shah Kotla grounds in Delhi against Mumbai Indians. It was a keenly contested match between the two sides, in which Delhi Daredevils defeated Mumbai Indians by five wickets. For once, the Delhi Daredevils middle order took the responsibility on itself to pull off an incredible win with Dinesh Karthik being the engineer of the win that finally helped them stay afloat in the tournament.

The Mumbai Indians set a target of 177 for the host team, in response to which the Daredevils scored 179 for the loss of five wickets. Dinesh Karthik’s match-winning unbeaten 56 came off just 32 balls and was studded with three sixes and four fours. Ferveez Maharoof and Karthik kept their cool and finally reached the desired target. Dinesh Karthik was declared the man of the match for his stupendous batting.
