Delhi Daredevils registered yet another victory defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets in an IPL match played at Johannesburg on Sunday (May10). With this win, the Delhi team moved to top spot on IPL table by toppling Chennai Super Kings. Chasing a modest total of 124 runs, AB de Villiers (40 not out) and Dinesh Karthik (17 not out) guided Daredevils to home. Earlier Delhi openers Gautam Gambhir (18) and David Warner (36) gave their team a good start. Warner scored 36 runs from 23 deliveries, hitting five fours and one six.

After losing three quick wickets, Daredevils' run rate dropped a little bit. However, De Villiers and Karthik batted sensibly to seal the victory for the Daredevils. When Knight Riders were sent to bat first, the team could some how managed to reach the score of 123 for the loss of eight wickets. Left-arm paceman from Daredevils, Ashish Nehra gave his team the initial breakthroughs by picking up Brendon McCullum (6) and Brad Hodge (0).

Sourav Ganguly was the top scorer from Knight Riders' side. The left-handed batsman garnered 44 runs off 45 balls with two sixes and one four. Kolkata Knight Riders lost wickets at regular intervals, which prevented them to post a high total against Daredevils. Nehra took two wickets for 29 runs while other pacer Dirk Nannes also claimed two wickets by conceding only 15 runs. But the pick of the bowlers was spinner Amit Mishra (3-14). Knight Riders would have scored much less without the last minute cameo from Ajit Agarkar (39 off 29).
