Bangalore beauty, Deepika Padukone took a dig at ex Ranbir in ‘Kofee With Karan’, in return his dad, Rishi Kapoor showered fumes of anger on her, but she opines that one should fight his or her own battle, as she does.

Padukone is the only one among the current league of actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonam Kapoor, Imran Khan or Kareena.

The actress adds, “Of late I have had to protect myself. Unlike film families who stand up for their children when they are in a situation, I have to fight my own battles.”

She spoke this in regard of her recent word battle with her ex Ranbir, she had pulled off the skin on the actor and in return his dad and actor, Rishi Kapoor bombarded her with words of anger.

She adds further, “Earlier I was always politically correct. That’s not because I didn’t have a mind of my own but because I felt that people are entitled to their opinion. Soon I realized people were taking advantage of my silence, so I chose to speak.”

In reply to Rishi Kapoor’s statements, the actress adds, “I have a lot of respect for Rishiji and their entire family. He is definitely entitled to his opinion. I did not go on the show (Koffee With Karan) to run anyone down. For me, as long as my friendship with Ranbir is intact, it’s all that matters. He understands that all that was said on the show was in good humor.”

The battle of words may not come to an end ever, but still the Bollywood industry is ruled by people having a background and those who doesn’t have one have the least value for words.
