Deccan Chargers recorded its first victory over Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League. The Friday match which was played at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack on Friday first seemed like the Kings of Punjab will again take away the pride of Hyderabad but it was not so.
The Kings XI Punjab who was chasing the score of 171 runs seemed difficult to achieve after the top order collapsed. Later, the all rounder Irfan Pathan came as a saviour of the team and scored 60 runs off 29 balls which included three boundaries and 5 sixes. Pacer R.P. Singh was the one who suffered the most.
But, the exciting batting of Irfan Pathan came to an end when 15 were needed of last over and Andrew Symonds at deep midwicket took the catch of Jaskaran Singh’s balling.
Talking about the Deccan Chargers, Andrew Symonds, Chaminda Vaas and Herschelle Gibbs played well and lead its team to a glorious victory.
Andrew Symonds was named man of the match.
