Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama is expected to arrive at Delhi from Tokyo on Saturday evening before leaving for Tawang. The spiritual leader’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh has been denounced by China, an aide said.
Tempa Tsering, an official in the Dalai Lama's office said,”The will come to Delhi after a week-long trip to Japan. Tomorrow (Sunday) he leaves with a small delegation to Arunachal Pradesh.”
"The Holiness will be in Arunachal Pradesh for a few days and will hold a religious discourse. I would like to stress that he will not be talking to the press," Tsering said.
Tawang is the town where the Dalai Lama crossed into India in 1959 while fleeing Chinese rule over Tibet. The Tibetan leader is expected to be welcomed by more than 800 Buddhist monks.
