CPI (M) is mulling a plan to forge an alliance with Telugu film superstar Chiranjeevi in the state of Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, CPI (M) is looking for right partners to fight next Lok Sabha elections; and it is mulling a plan to forge an alliance with Jayalalitha in Tamil Nadu too. Eyeing into building third-front with the help of regional parties, both (Chiranjeevi and Jayalalitha) the leaders are important for CPI (M).
On its way to forge any alliance with Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam, CPI (M) will have to divorce Telugu Desam Party (TDP). According to a politburo member, the party has left the decision on its state unit; everything would be decided on the submission of report by the state unit. The future alliance with Praja Rajyam is based on a speculation by the CPI (M) that Praja Rajyam would sweep the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Earlier, the CPI (M) had tried to take both (TDP and Praja Rajyam) the parties in a common platform, but, political scenario is that, the Congress and the TDP are the main rivals of Praja Rajyam and the superstar does not want to take any step that might help Naidu. Now, CPI (M) is left with one option, either to choose Praja Rajyam or TDP, and analyzing the situation well, the party is all set to forge an alliance with Praja Rajyam.
