In a serious attempt to shield itself from the negative political repercussions of inflation and price hike at a time when the elections are around, the Congress party is going to distribute among people booklets explaining the compulsions of the UPA government. On Saturday, June 7, the Publicity Committee of the Congress decided that it will bring out four booklets aiming to put forward the message of the government across to the people ahead the Assembly elections as well as the Lok Sabha polls.

 

The Congress, which is already staggering from a number of election defeats, is seriously wanting to make sure that incidents such as inflation and price hike does not affect its poll prospects negatively. At the same time, it is also wants to give an appropriate reply to the BJP’s criticism of the party on the issue of internal security. AICC spokesperson Mohan Prakash informed that the Congress consequently has decided to bring out four booklets on petroleum price hike, inflation, internal security and farmers' loan waiver.
