Congress party on Saturday (May16) announced to keep Dr Manmohan Singh as the prime minister for the next five. Congress-led UPA is all set to form the government at the center as the alliance is much ahead of its rival NDA. While confirming the news about Manmohan Singh, AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi said that Rahul Gandhi will be the future PM of the country.
Commenting on the brilliant performance of Congress-led UPA in the general elections, Dwivedi said that the success came because of the leadership of the government by Manmohan Singh, leadership of UPA by Sonia Gandhi and leadership of poll campaign by Rahul Gandhi. When asked about roping in Left parties, Janardan Dwivedi said that UPA is open for negotiations and it is up to them whether to join the alliance or not.
He further added that UPA had not terminated its relationship with Left rather they had withdrawn the support. Last year, the Left Parties declined to support UPA government following differences over the Indo-US nuclear deal. When asked about Rahul Gandhi the spokesperson said that when the situation will arise in future Rahul will become the prime minister and there is cent percent possibility.
