The congress party criticized megastar Amitabh Bachchan for becoming the Brand Ambassador for Gujarat.

 

Mr. Bachchan had earlier visited the BJP governed states Gujarat and Karnataka for the screening of the movie ‘Paa’. He had also arranged for special screenings for the Chief Minister Narendra Modi and BS Yeddyurappa of Gujarat and Karnataka respectively.

 

Congress stated that Big B is taking advantage of his stardom and earning more money in the process. Congress retorted that Mr. Bachchan was once the brand ambassador for Uttar Pradesh because of his intimacy with ruling party Samajwadi.

 

Regarding his Gujarat visits the superstar said that the visit was not related to any political motive and that Gujarat’s development influenced him.

 

Amitabh Bachchan was once very close to Rajiv Gandhi for which he was even elected for Lok Sabha in 1984 from Allahabad. But, when his name was revealed in Bofors scandal along with his brother, Ajitabh Bachchan he resigned from Congress. This incident also spoilt his relationship with Late. Rajiv Gandhi.
