Leading supplier of networking equipment and network management for Internet, Cisco has entered into a strategic alliance with TCS to deliver IT services. Cisco will set up a technology laboratory at the TCS campus in Chennai. According to media reports, the new Cisco-TCS alliance will develop and deliver IT services solution for next generation data centres.

 

Majority of Cisco's revenue about 60 percent comes from providing technology solutions, network solutions and data centers. The Cisco-TCS alliance will initially target Indian market and then expand their business to UK and US. The Cisco technology lab in Chennai will enable TCS to develop network-based data center solutions, test frameworks, develop skills and certify employees in Cisco data centre technologies.

 

In order to meet customers' requirements both TCS and Cisco will invest in skills development and training labs. The companies will also explore new networking innovations to address the needs of large and small businesses for IT services. The two companies are also planning to develop go-to-market solutions which will meet the infrastructure and network requirements of global corporations.
