West Indies captain Chris Gayle may miss the one-day international series against Australia. The skipper has sustained a side injury during his Twenty20 for Western Australia.
According to a source, Gayle encountered the painful injury while batting at a match against South Australia at the WACA on Tuesday night .The extent of damage will be determined with scans which he was supposed to undergo scans later on Wednesday .
West Indies is going to play a five one-dayer against Australia starting from February 7-19 .Gales ruling out of the series is likely in case of a serious tear. Even if scans show no tear, Gayle is almost certain not to play for Western Australia`s away clash with Tasmania on January 1.
