China has shown its unhappiness over the meeting of British Prime Minister Gordan Brown and Tibet spiritual leader the Dalai Lama. The high-profile meeting was held at the London residence of Archbishop of Canterbury. The venue was decided keeping in mind that it was not a political meeting rather a spiritual meeting, said the British spokesperson.
The spokesperson told media that issues ranging from dialogue between Tibet and China to UK’s commitment for human rights of Tibetan people were discussed between two leaders. Interestingly Gordan Brown earlier in the March had stated that he was unhappy with the crushing of Tibetan protesters, though lately he has been cautious not to offend Chinese leadership.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown held a 'warm and constructive' meeting with the Dalai Lama in London Friday during which he pledged to encourage reconciliation between China and the people of Tibet.
Prime Minister Gordan Brown expressed that he would work with both sides for greater peace through reconciliation. The meeting lasted for 30 minutes. Some demonstrators who had gathered outside the venue chanted the slogan. The Dalai Lama as usually remarked ideally that for him meeting place did not make any difference and he always meets on the level as he considers all the same human being.
