The Chinese have found a new way out for gathering support on the Tibet issue from overseas demonstrators. Chinese citizens have resorted to sending the nations flag to pro-Chinese demonstrators overseas. They are donating thousands of Chinese flags to be used in Pro-China rallies overseas. The state press has further reported that these flags are being exported free of cost.

The flag exporting drive is initiated by several Chinese internet portals, whose activities are being closely monitored by the Chinese government. The flags are principally being sent to those countries where the Olympic leg of the Torch relay is due. The flags have reached at least 24 cities of Australia, South Korea and Japan. The flags are being donated to other countries also where pro-China rallies are taking place, which includes America, Britain, Canada, France and Malaysia.

The Chinese internet portal, Sohu’s spokesperson revealed that since last Friday the internet portal has received 13,000 national flags which are being further exported to other countries. Sina.com, another major Chinese internet portal has received 4,200 national flags by Monday, out of which 1,000 flags were forwarded to South Korea by Tuesday.
