China has unveiled world's largest sci-tech museum Guangdong Science Centre in the southern city of Guangzhou on September 19, 2008. The steel-structured main building of the museum holds a floor area that is larger than Beijing's Tain'anmem square. The Guangdong Science Centre spreads over an area of 450,000 square meters. There is also a blooming kapok flower in the science centre. The museum will be opened to public on September 27. According to sources, the grand museum will contain eight exhibition areas, four science cinemas, two open libraries and a digital family experience hall.  

The 279-million-USD project is supposed to be completed within a time span of five years. The deputy head of the science and technology bureau, Zhang Ming said that the Museum's science centre will demonstrate China's newest fruits. The outdoor area of the science centre will be opened to visitors, free of charges. The museum is build up in the capital of Guangdong province, Xiaoguwei Island. The wholly-government-funded museum's science centre also promises to offer visitors artificial earthquake and typhoon environment and lots of other thrilling experiences.
