With a motive to sustain a viable relation with the Nepalese government, Beijing has announced to provide Rs 62.5 million as military aid to Nepal. In his recent visit to China, Nepalese Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has signed an agreement with Chinese government regarding this matter. On the other hand, Nepal agreed to restrict any activity against China in its territory. Thapa was in a visit to China to attend military exercise "Warrior 2008" in Beijing. During his visit, the Nepalese defense minister also met Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Guo Boxiong. It is said that Guo Boxiong is the highest official of Chinese force.
China has also donated medicines worth USD 20,000 to the B P Koirala Memorial Medical Hospital in Chitawan district in central Nepal. The medicine was handed over to the hospital by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Xiangling. China has appreciated Nepal's stand on Tibet and Taiwan. Sources said that the Maoist government of Nepal has very much supported China on the issue related to Tibet. The military aid to Nepal will help the small nation to stand tall besides every hurdle and obstacle.
