Amidst mounting global pressure, China claimed on April 2nd that the Tibetan monks are planning suicide attacks during the Beijing Olympics. The ‘Dalai clique’ an idiom China uses to describe the Dalai Lama government-in-exile, is raising its violent activities according to the Beijing authorities. The ministry of public security bureau spokesman told the international press that the ‘Tibet Independence’ forces are fast organizing suicide squads.
According to Chinese authorities, the police forces of the state have seized dangerous weapons and huge quantities of explosives from the Buddhist monasteries and temples in Tibet. The Tibetan government-in-exile however denied these charges and asserted that this is mere ‘propaganda’ of the Chinese government. The Beijing Olympics are to commence from August 8, and would be witnessing an influx of world class athletes and sportspersons at Beijing. His Holiness Dalai Lama however in the past has repeatedly stated that he supports China hosting the Olympic Games.
